Sage’s Hearth is owned and operated by Mary Gaetjens and Paul Winans, who share a passion for hospitality, community building, and creating spaces that bring people together. Together they envisioned Sage’s Hearth as more than a restaurant—a gathering place where residents, travelers, students, retreat participants, artists, and adventurers can feel welcome. Their dedication can be found throughout the restaurant, from the warm atmosphere and carefully restored spaces to the personal attention given to guests each day.

The restaurant occupies one of the largest indoor public gathering spaces in the Crestone area, allowing it to serve not only as a dining destination but also as a venue for celebrations, educational events, retreats, workshops, community meetings, and special occasions. As the vision continues to grow, Sage’s Hearth aims to become an enduring part of the local community while providing visitors with an authentic taste of the San Luis Valley’s warmth and character.
